Or stay within the lagoon and enjoy a lunchtime or evening sundowner cruise on the only paddle-driven vessel in South Africa! For a dinner with a difference – try the double-decker floating restaurant for a fun-filled family experience.
Walking and Hiking
The Garden Route Trail was developed to offer keen hikers a guided opportunity to experience all that the area has to offer in terms of forest, wetland, dune, Fynbos, estuary and riverine. Guided day hikes and forest tours are also offered. Or for the less energetic, take an easy Fynbos walk ending with a picnic.
Hire a bike and ride one of the many mountain-biking trails in the area which cater for beginners to the more experienced rider.
Knysna offers three superb golf courses. Knysna Golf Club is a short drive from Hope Villa and is situated on the edge of the lagoon. It is an 18-hole golf course that meanders through the tidal pools created by the lagoon. Pezula Championship Golf Course is a beautiful course with fairways and greens rolling through the landscape. The views at Simola Golf Estate make concentrating on the game difficult! This golf course is one of South Africa’s premier golfing destinations. Other golf courses can be found in nearby George and Plettenberg Bay.
