Put your feet up...
or put your walking boots on...
walk on the lagoon at low tide...
or just lie quietly at the pool and relax!
Hope Villa, in the beautiful Garden Route town of Knysna, is situated at The Heads. Stunning beaches, restaurants, golf courses and many leisure and adventure activities on your doorstep make this your ideal holiday accommodation choice! Our guests call it paradise!
If you want your holiday accommodation to provide that homely feel then Hope Villa is your obvious choice. We are hands-on hosts and are always available to give tips on where to go, what to see and where to eat! We love to share our knowledge of the area with our guests to ensure that they leave Knysna with the promise of returning one day because there was not enough time to fit in all the many activities on offer! Hope Villa is a relaxed bed and breakfast where you can feel free to put your feet up and relax or stretch out on the couch on the front veranda in the afternoon and have a nap (it’s a fabulous spot for doing just that!). Our comfy beds will ensure you sleep like a baby and because there is no night-time city noise you might even need to set your alarm to wake up in the mornings! We speak English, German and Afrikaans and love meeting new people.
Hope Villa is situated at The Heads, 6kms out of the centre of town but close enough to be able to nip back there if you want to experience more of the town “hustle and bustle”.
The surroundings here are peaceful and tranquil. Hope Villa is set on a large property so there is plenty of off-street parking and a lovely garden with swimming pool, trees and the constant sound of birds going about their business!
A short amble down the road and you’re at the sea where the views will take your breath away. The Indian Ocean enters the Knysna lagoon through The Heads (we are at the East Head) and every day down at the lagoon is different. There are many benches and viewpoints where one can just sit and watch the water coming and going (the change of tides is very interesting to watch because the water moves very fast and strong through The Heads), fishermen hoping to catch “the big one”, the pleasure boats having fun on the lagoon or the resident seals having fun in the water.
Hope Villa is an historic house. Construction of the house commenced in 1899 and was completed in 1901. The home is built of stone taken from the cliffs behind the house and features yellowwood floors, windows, oregan pine ceilings and doorframes. The house has since been tastefully restored. Hope Villa is situated in the middle of three original plots, which were consolidated into one erf.
